Trustee Position EOI
Thank you for yourinterest in the Wakatipu Community Foundation (WCF).

WCF was established in 2018 in the Wakatipu region. Community Foundations practice place-based philanthropy, and there are currently 17 foundations in New Zealand under our peak body, CFANZ.

WCF's purpose is to connect generous local individuals with causes that hold significance in our local region. We facilitate long term giving to our community. Over 50 donors have established endowment funds with us to benefit the community, many through a gift in a Will and others through a donation while alive, allowing them to witness the impact of their contribution.

Since WCF's inception, we have contributed over $2.5M to charitable organisations through scholarships and grants. Our investment fund is rapidly growing, currently standing at around $1.8M, with pledged wills forming legacies totalling over $37M at current values. We have set an ambitious 30-year goal of managing $1Bn.

In 2024, we are actively seeking additional Trustees to fill the positions of retiring Trustees. We are looking for well-connected locals with a passion for this region and who possess strong governance and entrepreneurial skills to aid in expanding our donor and funds' base. Trustees are also expected to be available to serve on one of WCF's five standing committees: Grants, Investment Advisory, Marketing & Events, Audit Risk & Policies, and Nominations. The role of Trustee is not remunerated.

The time commitment typically involves bi-monthly Board meetings, four or five committee meetings annually, along with a full-day strategic planning session proposed for early 2025.

Please fill out the form and submit along with a current CV, and cover letter by April 15, 2024. We will be creating a file for each person who provides an expression of interest to build our pipeline of passionate, talented volunteers. Feel free to call Jennifer at 0223945955 with any questions about our process.
