Thank you to the almost 200 of you

who sent in nominations to recognise over 120 AMAZING people in the Wakatipu!

The Spirit of the Wakatipu Awards have been designed to recognise all philanthropic contributions -  the funders, the donors and the socially responsible corporate partners; the charities, the non-profits and the community groups; the volunteers and all those who actively care for the people and place of the Wakatipu.  Any individual, group or organisation that is giving of themselves, their time, their talents and/or their financial resources to actively care for the people and place of the Wakatipu can be nominated for an Award.

What  is the Judging Process?

The Wayfare Spirit of the Wakatipu Awards are judged by a panel of representatives from Queenstown Lakes District Council and the Wakatipu Community Foundation with input in each Award Category from the Wakatipu Community Foundation sector advisors.

Once all nominations have been reviewed by the panel finalists for each category will be selected.  Finalists will be announced in the Mountain Scene on August 8th.

A second review will then occur with the panel contacting finalists and associated parties for further information and input as required before our winners are appointed.

Winners will be announced at the Wayfare Spirit of the Wakatipu Gala Dinner on September 14that the Queenstown Memorial Centre.  This is a public event and tickets will go on sale August 12 after  finalists are announced on August 5th.  If you would like to preregister for tickets, please fill out the form on this page.
