Kate Moetaua Foundation Giving Tuesday

As many of you will probably know my Mum Kate passed away from melanoma cancer last year. It's been a really tough time for me, my Dad 'T' and sisters Aya and Malia. It's really hard to say goodbye to anyone but it's even harder as she passed at such a young age.

Our Mum was not only an awesome Mum to us but she was an incredible teacher and mentor to so many people. She loved drama and teaching and she inspired so many young students who'd probably say she was more of a friend than a teacher. She made everyone laugh and made learning so much fun. Mum helped to give her students confidence both on and off the stage. Every musical and One Act Play performance would have a HUGE cast because because she liked to give everyone the opportunity to be involved.

One of Mum's final wishes was that we set up a foundation to help young people in the arts and sports to have access to the mentoring, resources and funds needed to fulfil their full potential, and have nothing hold them back. This will be a focus to grow for me, Dad, Aya and Malia in the coming months. When we receive requests for support from young actors, actresses and sports people for help to achieve their dreams we will be able to look at them through Mum's eyes and know that we are carrying on the great work that she did. These donations will go to create these opportunities in her name and help keep her legacy.

I will also use this page to keep you all up to date with donations, events and wonderful stories about mum for all of the people that have been able to support.

Thank you in advance your generosity is greatly appreciated from all of us,

Anika, T, Aya and Malia
