On Sunday we joined the Arrowtown Volunteer Fire Brigade to welcome their new 4WD First Responder Vehicle

After months of patiently waiting, the Arrowtown Volunteer Fire Brigade have officially welcomed their new 4WD vehicle to their fleet. With the previous 4WD 18 years old, a growing number of call outs on 4WD only roads, and the fast growing numbers of mountain bikers in the Whakatipu, a new vehicle more capable of safely navigating off road territory was needed. The Brigade also used the opportunity to upgrade and purchase new medical equipment for use with the truck.

Our Community Grants Support manager, Euni Borrie, worked with the Arrowtown team with fundraising support, grant strategy and application management which resulted in the AVFB securing the $150,000 required. Local funders Central Lakes Trust, Community Trust South and Hugo Charitable Foundation contributed to the 4WD and the medical equipment, with the balance raised from a hugely successful community fundraiser hosted by the local hospitality venue, The Fork and Tap.

Leave Your Local Legacy

When you’re ready, here’s how we can help you:

  • Determine what you most love and care about in your community and showing you how you could support and impact causes that matter to you

  • Providing information on giving strategies

  • Connecting you with local causes, programmes or charities doing good work in your community

  • Tailoring a plan of how you would like your money to be used

  • Simplifying the process by managing all administration, investments and distributing the income – you get to say where your gift goes, which is the best bit!
